A selection of this week’s more interesting vulnerability disclosures and cyber security news. Spam, spam and more spam. This week it’s unlikely you will have missed the huge influx of phishing emails. I’ve been watching some of the mail stats across various providers and seeing one reporting that 80% of email they have seen being reported as spam or malicious, the risk is high of just one person opening could lead to a very bad outcome.

Obviously for the consumer or those of us with few email (or aggregated) accounts a mass hit of spam becomes highly visible, whereas if a user is buried deep in an organisation which hasn’t blocked such mail (and I can understand why, they are often very slippery to pick out now), they may only see one or two and being highly convincing, may just lure them…

Spam is with us. Its never going to go away… Education and paranoia may be all that’s left to fight them! Stay safe.

The rest of it…
