Hi, I’m Patrick Cantellow and I’m the Product Marketing Apprentice at ionCube and I’ve been here for almost 8 months now.

Working at ionCube has given me lots of experience and some amazing opportunities that I wouldn’t have got anything else.

Marketing was something I always wanted to get into, I found it fascinating how marketers try to influence the reader to push a call to action.

At ionCube I’ve very much taken ownership of the social media accounts, writing blog articles and attending events here in Kent.

And while I’m at it I’m getting a level 3 diploma in marketing.

It’s certainly a challenge as my background isn’t with cyber security but I’m learning from others in the office as well as researching myself to help me when it comes to writing blogs.

I think one of the best opportunities I’ve had so far is attending MozFest back in October 2016. I was in charge of the social media in the YouthZone and this gave me a real insight into managing social media at events.

I got to meet some amazing people and also got to play around with Raspberry Pi and VR which was really new to me.

One of ionCube’s new and upcoming products is ionCube24, an online all-in-one platform for website owners to monitor and protect their website. Part of its development is new website content and marketing strategy where my knowledge is called upon.
